Nottingham Forest, 1189

The year, 1189, the occasion the Mayday games in Nottingham Forest. Your dinner, with Robin & Marion, is an eight course spectacular. You will be amazed how well they ate in those days!

The dinner party pack contains booklets, illustrated recipes, menus, invites, a music CD, trivia, organising instructions and much more.

The eight courses of this rustic themed dinner party have been researched and cleverly re-created for you by historic cookery expert, Carol Wilson of the British Guild of Food Writers.

Finding enough food for a dinner for a hungry band of outlaws, in Sherwood Forest, wasn’t easy. Hunting, hawking and poaching any of the king's beasts would be punished by death.

In this period the menu for special occasions was colourful and recipes were highly flavoured with herbs and spices. So Robin and his merry band of outlaws would forage for roots, herbs and wild grasses if Marion was to be entertained at Robin’s dinner party or to stay fit and healthy for their robbing and continuing battle with the Normans.
